Fredrik and I love to play games and will many people associate them with colder months I suggest to you that they are the perfect way to while away a hot summer’s day. They are also great for traveling as a pack or two of cards or a travel sized game does not take up much room, I actually keep two decks in a large coin purse in my handbag, and we all know the boredom of a long layover or train trip right!
So that was my original intro and then I was going to list some games and link to the rules online. The thing I am realizing though is that many of the games I grew up with have a very specific set of family rules that are not relating to things I see online! I am going to do those then as a video demonstration later with perhaps a new name rather than what I grew up calling them!
For now how about some games everyone can enjoy easily!
Skip-bo – I am sure I have mentioned this game before but it is really fun! For a fun alternative you can do a time period tournament rather than going by the score of one game as the winner which would make it perfect for summer!
Phase 10 – This is a game if you like rummy sorts but want it to be an all in one package!
Connect Four – We bought a travel sized one from Tigr and have really enjoyed it in various train stations and airports.
