Imagine you had a hundred dollars, but you couldn’t keep it. You had to give it away to a person or charity. Who would you give it to? What would you want them to do with it?
Am I the only one that feels picking a charity and giving them money to be so daunting? I always feel I need to do so much research on exactly where the money goes and perhaps they have some weird ulterior motives you would not know by just seeing the name and a brief look around.
The other thing too is not to feel discouraged that the amount you have to give will actually make a difference. I know that thinking is silly and you should just give what is available to you but some problems like curing a disease just seem so much bigger than a hundred dollars.
I personally prefer to do a more hands on approach to charity and have in the past worked at soup kitchens and summer camps.
Ok so after that last super self bragging sentence I think right now if I had a hundred dollars to give to a charity it would be Planned Parenthood. In the past, when I was living in the US and had no insurance, they were always so great to go to for my gynecological needs.
If I chose a person I think it would be Fredrik so he could buy me something! HAHAHAHA I am just kidding I would give it to a friend I have that is a teacher in a small school district and she could buy some supplies for her classroom.
If it was not either of those I think I would divide it up and do $25 to four of my favorite podcasts!
